The Shtapelny super absorbing polymeric strings of Coats Ultrabloc S/SC
Coats Ultrabloc S/SC are the threads which are bulking up under the influence of water ideally suited for isolation of any sites of a fiber-optical cable from moisture, for example, a waterproofing of the free buffer or the central power elements of a cable. Coats Ultrabloc S is a thread from the pure super absorbing polymer. Coats Ultrabloc SC - includes the core from polyester for the additional durability and heat stability.
Coats Ultrabloc S/SC is made on the ultramodern equipment, providing continuous control of diameter of the made fibers, for creation of a product with a soft and uniform surface. Fibers were also investigated regarding change of the sizes at temperature fluctuations, aging under the influence of heat and freezing / thawing and showed the minimum values of change of the sizes. Research of these characteristics is important for minimization of potentially possible attenuation of a signal in a fiber-optical cable, in particular for designs in which threads are laid in optical modules in close proximity to the fibers which are carrying out a signal.
Coats Ultrabloc S/SC can be also used for blocking of salty and sea water.

Features and advantages
- Threads of Coats Ultrabloc S/SC possess ideally smooth surface, in view of lack of any covering; these threads are made of the super absorbing polymeric fibers. Ideally plain and smooth surface of threads reduces risk of attenuation of a signal when threads are laid in the optical module in close proximity to an optical fiber.
- On strings of Coats Ultrabloc S/SC there is no covering which would exfoliate and created effect of dusting during production of a cable. Purer process of production of a cable can save both time, and money as the idle time decreases and equipment service life increases (thanks to smaller risk of emergence of malfunctions of the equipment at production of a cable in comparison with use of the usual threads which are bulking up in water with the absorbing covering. Also pure working conditions ensure big safety and the best working conditions for operators of the equipment.
